Life with a service dog

 A Snowy Easter

This is Rosa on St. Patrick's Day with her family and Aunts and Uncle Danny. I was not there. I took a few Easter pictures but they are not ready yet. Look at how cute she is with her beautiful eyes (says Grandma) and she likes books ha ha. Easter bunny brought some new books for at our house.

We had a delightful day. Brunch that was yummy. Lots of good food. Help from all that came here. Grateful to have all my children in town and their friend Jamie joined us also.
Rosa stole the show in her cute outfit and she was in a super mood. My granddog Lily came and she and Emma did fine. They got to go out and play in the snow. Yes we think this weekend we got about six inches. Anna was very helpful with the dogs.

I will post more pictures tomorrow if I can. I felt better today. It was just wonderful to have my family here today...we had fun being together.

Hope you enjoyed the day however you chose to celebrate it.

 Happy Easter

Wishing you a joyous Easter.

My family will be gathering for brunch. Many dishes were made in advance and ready to cook or reheat. I just tasted the yummy ham. Greg is the master in the kitchen. He is such a good cook. His Mother was a professional cook and taught many skills to her ten children. She insisted the boys learn too not just the girls. Another wonderful meal will be served.

The best part for me is the gathering of family. We will have all our children and one friend of Becky's. It will fun to have their laughter, chatter, and presence in the house. Mike and Tia and the girls have another place to go later. I hope the others stay most the day. We will have plenty of leftovers and sandwich buns for later in the early evening.

I am not feeling as well as I would like but coping anyway. I slept later than usual as Greg got up early to manage things. I even set the table yesterday so things are pretty well set up. My children will help as needed of course.

My mother died a year ago today. In some ways the year has gone quickly but in other ways i think I grieve as if it was yesterday. I am trying to picture her in heaven with her loved ones. Sometimes I wish i could have one more day with her when her health was good. There are questions I would ask about family history...but at least I have my own family including my granddaughters to enjoy life with. Life moves on....

Emma is delighted with the smells of cooking. We have taken her outside often as again today there is some light snow. On the news they showed Easter egg hunts in the snow.

I have to go rest so I am okay or the best I can be when they get here in about an hour. Thanks for reading this...Happy EAster

 Saturday

Yes the adds above my blog had a religious tone once I talked about religion and Jesus.
Today I am again not feeling so great. Able to do a few chores so that Greg and I together can be ready for Easter but sleeping a great deal of the time. Taking the asthma medication more often as directed by my doctor seems to be helping on that front. I can breathe easier. Yeah I won't take that for granted.

On Easter my children are coming for brunch. Greg is making some items today and we will just reheat in the microwave tomorrow. He makes cheese potatoes that always taste better the same day for example. As is our tradition we will have ham, lamb, fresh fruit, potatoes, rolls, and eggs. A lot of choices. One of Becky''s friends will join us so that will be nice.

Since my coughing is less, the goal today is catch up on sleep and also to help as able. I want to feel good enough to enjoy my clan.

Emma is enjoying the snow of course. Some melting is ocuring already. Hope you have a good weekend. I am going to go lay down again for awhile.

Emma and Mary wish you a Happy Easter.

 Have a sense of humor?

Notice the ads above the blog. I do not endorse any of them. i think it is why my blog is free. But the topics of my blog trigger what adds they put in

mention dogs - lots of them are about dogs

colds - notice this week (they change often) the adds for cold remedies

will there be religion ones if I mention Bible, God, prayer?

what if I mention Flowers, Gardens.

Let's watch what I write this week and see how the ads vary

Greg brought flowers to me twice this week...yeah for summer flowers!

 SNOW FOR EMMA YEAH

Emma enjoyed the at least 5 inches of wet snow that we got today. I am still trying to get better.

Greg watched Rosa and Sophia here for a few hours. I watched a movie with them and we colored some easter eggs. Boy was that fun. Rosa was amazed at the colors. Sophia was so creative. Both are still a bit tired from being sick this week too. Mike and Tia had an important meeting to go to. It worked out fine. Greg and I said they were both again so adorable and fun.

Greg felt better today though tonight wondered if he has a sinus infection? Breathing is my problem. the aches and pains except for those from MS are better and I am not coughing much so that is a good sign. If we can just get the lungs to calm down. My asthma is giving me some problems. I am no worse tonight so that is a good sign compared to most of the week.

Greg goes to work tomorrow to help set up for Easter. He builds this neat pond like thing for Easter vigil. It is too bad they can';t spare the space to build a permanent one. Then the baptisms of adults they actually can step into this. My son Mike will help.

My son Mike also volunteered to go to Greg's work and he snowplowed before their services. That saved Greg some worry. Another student came later to help but most students are gone for spring break was this week.

Tia and Mike have such great kids. Rosa showed off her singing tonight. She has an Elmo (she say elbow) thing from christmas. When you push a button he sings songs and drums a drum. Today she tried to sing with him. Her voice was so sweet. She even did a fa la la I think. So fun that she has mastered words like grandma - i love hearing that from both girls.

Sophia is delightful. I relaxed and we watched a video. We even colored some easter eggs for the girls. When we got done Sophia realized we colored eggs with the names Rosa, Mommy, Mickey (her name for my son) and forgot Rosa. Well the Easter bunny will have to correct that flaw. She was just amazing to be with. So cute with her sister, so fun to chat with and cuddle.

Tia and Mike look so tired after a week with sick kids. i am glad they got time away even if it was to a mtg. Next week maybe we will all be in better shape and they can go out for something "fun". I am so happy if the kids are fine they will come here for a little while before going to dinner with Tia's relatives. The weather should cooperate this snow will be gone at least off roadways and things by then. It melts fast in March.

Thanks for the nice notes. I didn't get any Easter cards sent. Thanks for the prayers. Mike does have one person he spoke with and we will see if that works out. Keep on praying and thanks,

Have a wonderful Easter. I think this is only the second time in my life I did not go to a church service on Good Friday. i did listen to part of one on television and read the bible too. I didn't really think about how much I believe in Jesus till recently I had a discussion with someone who really honestly thinks he was an important person but not God's son. Not anymore than you or I have God as father. I think I just was so surprised. Now I just couldn't believe this specific person would feel that way. i have respect for others with different beliefs. I guess in my heart I really believe Jesus was God's son. i don't always completely understand him dying for our sins, but I really believe he taught us how to live and like the bible. I am not however someone who thinks only one religion will get to heaven. God can sort that all out.

So tonight I am grateful for my belief and my faith. Thankful for the Joy and Promise that Easter brings to all of us.

Have a good holiday weekend - safe travels. Mary and Emma
