Life with a service dog

 Please Pray

Okay those of you who believe in the power of prayer, or even if you don't...we have two things we want you to pray for. My son Mike who just got laid off and our friend Tim who is still looking for work. Both have two kids to support, are hard workers. I pray that God help them find opportunities that use their skills and pay those bills.I am sure in this economy their are other unemployed who need our prayers too.

Thanks..talked to the nurse about our cold/flu she said if it was not better by next Tuesday we better go in to the dr office. Yes ladies and gentlemen she says it takes a long time to get over. I wonder if our healthy kids and those now on the mend from the stomach flu will want to come here for Easter or stay clear for fear of germs. None of them can afford to get it and miss a week of work now can they.

Greg ordered a ham. He says he will cook and leave packages on the door step for them to pick up from here ha ha. I told him he would have to cook with a mask on. He hopes he will feel better by Saturday at the latest. Being a campus minister Holy Week is NOT a good time to be sick and away from work. They are coping without him today at least.

Wishing you all good health.

Mary and Emma
Thanks for your prayers.

Manger Scene move out it is almost Easter!

Mary Joseph and baby Jesus finally left my yard. Yes it is Holy Week. Yes Greg got out there to move them finally. Sometimes that is the way life goes.

We are so sick with this cold? influenza? that I am wondering if we will be germ free by Easter. Off to bed again. Emma is being very good but I am sure she will be happy when we can get out and about again.

I wrote earlier today too. Hey puppies will be coming soon to Helping Paws. Two litters are expected soon. I will let you know more when I hear more.

Emma and Mary wish you happy healthy day.

 Another Day Home Sick

We were home all day today and likely tomorrow also. I am still not feeling well at all. It was nice weather. My husband also stayed home as he is also sick. Between us we made sure Emma got outside to enjoy the weather and running in the yard. When I watch from the patio door she comes over to check how I am doing, I say you can play and she will go back in the yard but keep watching me now and then. I have been sleeping so much that she has needed these times outdoors to burn off energy. Greg left to go to accupuncture and I think went outside and played with her on the way.

Snow is predicted for Friday but I don't think they know for sure if it will hit us. In any case March snow doesn't last long. Emma would like the snow I suppose. She has been very helpful around the house today. I love having her in my life.

Nothing exciting here. My daughter is sick now too. Hopefully we will all be well for Easter. Wishing you a good day -- Mary and Emma

 Emma on TV?

This weeK I am sick with more of a respiratory flu and/or cold. I woke up with is on Sunday and have felt worse each day. Often with MS other illnesses impact you to a greater degree. So yesterday i read most the day..today I coughed and slept. Emma cuddled right up beside me. I also am very hoarse and have a sore throat.

A reporter from our local cable channel called and wants to do a story on Emma and myself. We are meeting next week due to my health. She is coming to my home with the photographer. I have a very simple house. nothing fancy and a bit of a phobia about having others come into my home. I think this will be good publicity and so agreed. A person from Helping Paws had the idea.

My goal is to get over this hopefully without stirring up too much MS problems. I really can't control whether it will flare up the MS except for I do think getting rest helps.

Emma is being very good. I am giving her lots of tlc as she cuddles up next to me. Not much going on here. My son's family is sick with the stomach/intestinal problems like I had a week ago. I worry about them all.

Stay well if you can. I guess this stuff is going around in our area.

Emma is great moral support,

Mary and Emma

 Happy St. Patrick's Day

I am an Irish person so recall fondly St. Patrick's Day as a child. My mom would make it special for us. At our Catholic school we would discuss St. Patrick. Today I am home with Emma battling a cold and sore throat. Don't feel sorry for us. It is lightly snowing, we are enjoying our cozy house, and I am reading a good book. A far cry from days when I worked and had to go to work feeling crummy and tend to my family. I have to be careful though as colds and things can cause my MS and my asthma to flare up. I was going to babysit Rosa for a few hours but instead Anna is doing that. I love time with Rosa but needed sleep. I saw her Friday and Saturday and am hoping Greg and I did not spred this germ to their family or our friends.

I am so blessed that family live here. Tia and Mike are so good to let us see Rosa and Sophia often. Rosa can say Emma so cute. I love the way she calls grandma too. She is 17 months old and learning so much. she talked to me on the phone today which was fun.

Emma just went outside with me watching from the patio door. She was so excited. Light snow but we have had some melting other days. Forgotten toys lay below the snow and it is fun to discover the balls now. She just scampered around so joyful. I think she would have liked being outside all day, but came in so obediently. I am glad to have her help me and keep me company today.

For some reason I am just amazed at how quickly years go by. I remember this holiday with my own children. They are so good to visit with us and call by phone. When they were little and growing things were so busy. I wonder if they will ever understand how much joy they have brought into my life. All of them Tia, the girls and Justin...and my four children and husband...I am richly blessed to have them in my life.

Emma is nudging me here. She wants me to play with her. We found a toy under the couch that needs to be enjoyed ha ha. Thanks for reading my blog. May you be blessed today and always....
