Two trips to Drs. today. Trouble with my diabetes and had an office visit. Later had another test. This Dr. (endrocrinologist) is afraid of dogs so she waited with Greg. I have brought her before in with the Dr. but it is obvious that she is so uncomfortable that I decided not to bring her in this time.
The day flew by. Greg, of course had to drive me. To make his schedule work with my dr appts we went to work with him a part of the day. I just read and Emma was just great. We did make it home in time for a late nap.
It is so dry here. Part of my lawn is pretty brown. There is part that is well shaded and that is still green and Emma can roll in it. Gosh we need rain so badly. It is so dry we have not had mosquitos. Never in my life do I recall a summer without those pesky bugs.
Emma had a good day. We still played outside of course. Tomorrow it is suppose to be sunny 90 and humid. We will go to water exercise and then see my friend Jan and go to lunch with her. So that will be a special day for us.
Sorry I don't have much exciting to write today. I am off to bed. The day went by quickly. Mary

Tuesday
I had fun with Emma outdoors today. She was not interested in running a lot so she rested in the shade. I sat with a cool drink, my dog, in the shade, and enjoying the breeze. Very relaxing.
We did go to water exercise. It is held noon - 1 pm now in the summer. I don't get much done in the afternoon because we did nap. Then I returned some phone calls. Helped make dinner too. The day flew by.
It is nice to have time to play with Emma, pet her, and just have more quiet moments together. I missed that last week and she did too. We were so busy from morning till after dinner. Luckily when I fell asleep a bit early last week she had Greg to take her for a walk and play with her.
Emma is helping get clothes out of the dryer, handing us clothes to fold and other things today. She is such a helper. She is getting more movement rather than just being in a drop stay last week while I met with specialists, or listened to presentations. I think she is happy to get back to her more active jobs and to being home. Or so it seems to me. I feel like I am still recovering from the busy week but oh it was worth it. i learned so much.
Rosa really likes rubber ducks and can say "duck". Well now we have a bigger one just for Emma. She looks so funny walking around with a duck in her mouth. Everyone is admiring her new pack with the new Helping Paws logo also. She is so much fun to play with.
The other day it was past her time to eat. Instead of bringing me her dish like normal, she brought me "her" measuring spoons. I do measure out her food. She must have pulled them off the counter. I really don't want her to take things off the counter but it was smart to bring them as a reminder of time to eat.
Did I tell you the floor is done in the bathroom? Looks great. Next step is to paint after we wash walls and prime. I think Emma likes the new floor but then I always think she thinks what I think ha ha.
Hope you are doing well. Find something fun to do today even if Rubber Duckies are not your thing.

Emma and I slept late. We stayed home and enjoyed playing together. We did some chores, took a nap, and just made it an easy day. After a busy week it seemed good to be home.
I will write more tomorrow. I am so tired. I have had several phone calls tonight from various friends and family. I think i am to tired to think now.
One cute story I will share is at the concluding program the last day of the Heuga Program, they had door prizes. As a joke, Brian pulled out a slip from the drawing and said Emma. Well Emma was under the table (we were right in front) and I was not holding the leash. So she walked right up to him. Everyone laughed. He was familar to her as he helped me with exercise during the week.
She came right to me though. Then on the slip there was a number and really it was my number so she and I went up to get my prize. It was a fancy flash light. But Emma just was a doll the entire week.
We did make sure that she and I had some short breaks in the room to relax. I can't tell you enough how cute it was to see her sprawled out between Greg and I on the King Size bed. It seemed huge. So last night back to our own queen bed. We had to remind her to lay at our feet or in her bed. She tried so hard to get between us but there was not enough room.
Tomorrow we will go swimming. Cleaning lady comes on Wed and I have a Dr. appt. I need to take time to read this week also.
Hope you are doing okay. Mary and Emma

One last note on Sunday. Sometimes Emma's strong tail gets wagging fast when my kids come home or when she is excited to see my granddaughters or myself. Oops sometimes she is in a position where poor Rosa gets the tail smacking her and oops it knocks her over. I wish I had a good answer for this but I gues I just have to watch where my dog is in relationship to Rosa.
Overall Rosa and Emma get along so well. Rosa crawled over many times to pat Emma. She really doesn't know how to pet. She can of course pull hair but then Emma politely moves.
We had a wonderful evening. I wrote twice today. Hope your Monday is Marvelous.

We got home today and played with Rosa and Sophia. My kids will join us for supper. I am not sure if it will be all of them yet. Emma and I still took a short nap leaving Grandpa in charge. After the busy week a nap was NOT optional.
Rosa can crawl and pull herself up to furniture. She can thus clean off the top or bottom shelf of our coffee table. She really giggles and squeels when she is having fun. She was greeted by lots of kisses from Emma. Then Emma doesn't pay much attention unless she heads for the water dish. That had to be moved. I must say when Rosa walked partly around the coffee table Emma, Grandpa, and I were very surprised,
My bathroomm floor was tiled while we were gone. It looks beautiful. It will soon be painted and grab bars installed and we will be all done. The end is near.
I decided I think Rosa has almost better balance than I do. I came home with balance exercises to do daily.
I am off to be with the kids and set the table and do a few things. We are having Italian spaghetti, corn on the cob, garlic bread, and fresh vegetables. I think tomorrow we will be home to do laundry and restt.
Wishing you a good day. More tomorrow. Mary
