Today at the YMCA did Emma ever enjoy herself. There are swimming lessons all morning before we swim at noon. Four of the off duty swim teachers (who are also life gaurds) were sitting around on the floor near where she rests to watch me swim. It is in a recessed doorway by the life gaurd desk. I asked if they would like me to put her closer to the pool somewhere else (it is the only place where she can be back that far from the pool edge. sorry I don't know how many feet though) They said oh please let her lay here.
So they moved themselves so Emma could lay in her favorite spot. They were in a circle around her talking away. Well she was in heaven. I know she loves being on the floor at my house when the kids are sitting there. She was looking pretty happy. She stayed right on the towel she lays on but enjoyed the excitement. I thought I bet at Judy's she had times wit kids around. Judy has three teenagers!!
Well she did take time to look at me now and then. I know if I said her name I would have her immediate attention. She did not doze off like she some times does. I wish I had a picture of the YMCA staff (some in their lifegaurd outfits others in their YMCA swimsuits) she just looked like she wanted to be one of the gang. She even moved her head from person to person as they spoke. She looked like she was listening intently!!
When we got home we were outdoors a long time. First Emma was looking for chipmunks but none were to be found in the woodpile. Then we played with her toys. She ran and ran to get the ball and other toys. Finally she was tired and we both headed in for a nap.
tonight I have a few chores to do, some picking up! This is the longest daylight of the year. When I was little that fascinated me. Today I woke up at 5:30 am and couldn't believe how light it was out. Yes I went back to bed and because I don't work I normally am not awake till 7 or later. Tonight we will appreciate that it is so light into the evening as now the days grow shorter. Call me a big kid - I just appreciate this day of the year. We will for sure get outside again to play.
I sure wish i had a picture of Emma with the Young Adults at the YMCA today. She was very well behaved. I think it was good she could stay in her spot rather than a spot closer to the pool edge. She didn't mind a bit.
Wishing you a Happy Day
Mary and Emma
